Phone Links
Registering RingCentral for NetSuite Pro as your tel: handler means any phone number link — in NetSuite records, emails, or websites — opens RingCentral for NetSuite Pro and dials automatically.
Browser support
This setting is only visible in browsers that support navigator.registerProtocolHandler: Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on desktop. It does not appear in Safari or mobile browsers.
Registration Status
The Phone Links card in Settings shows one of three states:

| 🟢 Active | Confirmed default — all tel: links open RingCentral for NetSuite Pro |
Step 1: Register RingCentral for NetSuite Pro
- Open Settings → scroll to the Phone Links card.
- Click Use RingCentral for NetSuite Pro for phone links.
- A small prompt appears near the browser address bar — click Allow.
HTTPS required
Registration silently fails over plain HTTP. If you see "Could not register. Use HTTPS and try again.", ensure you are accessing RingCentral for NetSuite Pro via https://.
Step 2: Set as Default
After registering, open your browser's handler settings and set RingCentral for NetSuite Pro as the default for tel: links. The Phone Links card shows a Copy button for each URL below — paste it into your address bar (browsers block navigation to internal pages like chrome://).

edge://settings/content/handlers - Find tel in the protocol list and select RingCentral for NetSuite Pro.
- Copy and paste into address bar:
about:preferences#general - Scroll to the Applications section, find tel, and select RingCentral for NetSuite Pro.
Once set as default, the card shows Active (green badge). Clicking any tel: link anywhere in the browser now opens RingCentral for NetSuite Pro at /?tel=<number> and dials immediately.
