Receiving a Call

Prerequisites: You must have completed the RingCentral OAuth setup (Settings → Integrations → RingCentral) and have RingCentral for NetSuite Pro open in at least one browser tab.

How It Works

When an inbound call arrives, RingCentral for NetSuite Pro shows a banner and plays your selected ringtone:

  • On the home page: An in-page incoming call banner appears at the top of the Phone tab.
  • On any other page (Settings, Messages, etc.): A fixed banner appears at the top of the screen showing the caller's name — resolved from NetSuite when possible, or the raw phone number — with Answer and Decline buttons.

Click Answer to join the call. The active call view opens with mute, transfer, record, and hang-up controls. The call info pane on the right shows the caller's NetSuite contact and company when a match exists, plus your org's Call Fields and notes field.

Click Decline to reject the call. Ringing stops immediately and the call is logged as missed.

Caller name resolution

The banner shows the caller's name when RingCentral for NetSuite Pro can match the number to a NetSuite or RingCentral contact. Otherwise you see the raw phone number.

OS Notifications

If you have granted browser notification permission, an OS-level notification fires when a call comes in. This is only visible when RingCentral for NetSuite Pro is in a background tab — browsers suppress OS banners while the tab is focused.

Ringtone

Your selected ringtone plays on inbound calls. To change it: Settings → Notifications → Ringtone dropdown. The Ringtone sound toggle must be on.

Missed Calls

Missed calls automatically appear under History within ~3–5 seconds:

  • Recent calls sub-tab — the missed call row
  • Voicemails sub-tab — if the caller left a message (may take a few extra seconds for RingCentral to transcode audio)

No manual refresh is needed.

Multiple Open Tabs

If RingCentral for NetSuite Pro is open in more than one tab, only one tab rings at a time. RingCentral for NetSuite Pro's tab coordinator elects a single active tab — you will not hear duplicate ringtones or see duplicate banners across tabs.
